Snow...
There comes a time when one must move the circus to a different town... give the good folks down the road a chance to see what you got... now I'll be the first to say that stretching your wings is a must in our business. It's the only way to see what challenges lie down the road... when you get too comfortable it's easy not to shake the boat. Well, in my case, the boat's a shakin'... Not only are we gaining momentum with our Sogopro projects - but "my day job" has thrown me a curve ball.
It's been decided to shoot one of our episodes down the road a piece. No, way, way down the road. Well folks, we're going scouting to find this promised land that the script calls for... What does this episode need? How do we find it and more importantly how the heck are we gonna get there? Stay tuned...and take this scouting trip with me.
First off... snow is in the script... lot's of snow... So we gotta go where there's lots of that stuff... It snows in lots of parts of the country, but we need it to be there when the company arrives... if it wasn't - that would be a disaster... so it's off to find the stuff... plane tickets to buy... calling of locations scout... rental cars... hotels...
we gotta go and scout to find the right location. Here's what we found so far...
snow...mountains

and more snow.... mountains![]()
Snow...
a lonely snowy place too...woods.
Okay...you get the picture... There's snow, woods and mountains in the script...more scouting to be done...

I hope you find the perfect place to shoot your epsiode. I live in AZ and there are some places where it snows here. The best place I've been was Show Low. It be amazing if you guys came out here!!!
Love the pics! :)
It's very beautiful! Good luck for your project!!!!
Snow? So I guess no chances of coming to Brazil... lol
Might I suggest the Reno/Tahoe area. Great snow...mountains and a tight community.

I wish you the best of luck fingding your location! and have an awesome time wherever you go. You know you could always come to canada :D ahaha! Im very glad to hear from you, its totally awesome to step back for a minute, and realize that normal production companies wouldn't share this with their supporters, but then again sogopro isn't normal, its better! Thank you so much Kelly for sharing, and keep us posted :)

Looks a lot like Utah. COLD but beautiful.
Places you found look just beautiful !
I'm living in Switzerland and almost all the country is surrounded by Mountains so I'm just used to live with(in) snow :)
But sometimes, It's even too cold for snowing...and it's just like we're going back in Ice Age !

Anyway, I hope you'll find the right place for shooting your episode !
xo, Rémi
Rémi those photographs are amazing!
Yeah, I know :)
It was in 2005, the coldest and windest winter we've never had since....a very long time ago... !!! There was a natural skating rink all around the lake, it was just inscredible :)
I guess it must be an open space, huh? Well, I love the first and third picture, both really amazing! However, personally, I'm fed up with snow this winter!
xoxo, Kasia
wow, all those pictures are so beautiful!!
i want to got to the snow, heck i wish it snowed here!!
:)
Being a native Colorado mountain girl I love the snow. It's just beautiful. Might I suggest scouting out Telluride, CO or Winter Park, CO? They are both gorgeous locales and generally snow stays in the Rockies during most of the year, up on the higher elevations that is. If I remember correctly you lived in Manitou?, so you probably remember! Now I'm really missing the mountains after reading this and seeing those pictures. Good luck with scouting; I'm sure you'll find an awesome location!
ick I'm sick of snow....I have nothing really nice to say about it...k...I lied I do have something nice to say about it. It is pretty at first, untouched, when all trees are covered and the wind hasn't blown it off and people and animals and cars have not made tracks all over it. That is when snow is pretty...unfortuantly that is usually a brief period of time...b/c eventually we all have to go somewhere in it...and well that ruins the prettiness of it in multiple ways.
This episode would be airing in the spring...I assume...which will be kind of odd and untimely to see snow on tv then...but hey why not be different. Different can be good...
Thanks for the info and pictures kt! :)
The only time I saw a lot of snow was when I was little, and my mum and me went to a little town called El Maitén, which is near the Andes. I woke up one morning and it had snowed all night, it was really nice.
I never saw that much snow again, until last year, when I went to Bariloche for my graduation trip with my friends. We went to the Cerro Catedral, one of the most beautiful and important mountains in Bariloche. I had to wear googles because the sun glinted on the snow and hurt my eyes!
Have fun scouting, you can always come to the Patagonia!
xo,
Ella
ah snow is one of my favorite things when it makes it way here. love the pics, well have fun scouting and stay warm.
Val
OMG! It has snowed here in Kansas far too much to count! haha But I would like to wish you good luck on scouting for locations. I always thought that scouting would be a fun job! :)
Ashley :)
Aw wow good luck with finding a location! I heard you guys got a bit of snow in Wilmington the other day, that was enough to get me jealous but after seeing these pictures I really wish I could be helping you scout out a location!!! :]
Well.....there's always the Adirondack's of upstate NY....LOL...they're ALWAYS covered in snow this time of year - as a matter of fact, they're getting 1-3 inches an hour as we speak!!!! (and considering it has been known to snow on Mother's Day, or college graduation days.....you should be safe!)
Good Luck with the location scouting :)
Mountains under snow are beautiful! On my recent drive up to Canada from Arizona, I saw a similar back drop through a few states, those being Idaho, Utah, and Montana. And this is also the vision of western Alberta for the better part of probably 4 or 5 months. Mountains are always fun to explore, sometimes a difficult task in the snow. With the unknown under the thick coat of fluffy white, or the getting stuck because you dont have 4X4, makes it interesting. But that untouched snowy blanket in the wilderness just has a certain beauty and wonderment to it. Even the wildlife, those that are awake, seem to step lightly through it. Now you have me itching to go to the mountains, maybe I shall go winter camping after all, not sure I can for the snow to start melting. I just love the mountains. Thanks for sharing your excursion with us! I hope you are having a fantastic time scouting in far off lands! Sounds, and looks, quite exciting!
The second picture in the post reminds me of this place in Park City that's called, "The Canyons." It's this HUGE ski and snowboarding resort. My family and I love vacationing there during Christmas-time and New Years. Black Rock Ridge is a fairly new development there and since we like the area so much we just bought a place there.....so much cheaper than always doing the whole vacation rental. thing. Ha!
But wherever you go for the snow, it's sure to be a blast. Ain't nothing better. (And this is coming from the girl who grew up in Minnesota with 40 below zero winters)
