Big ol' Crush
When I fall, I fall hard. And professionally speaking, I have fallen head over heels for the folks on White Collar! A few months ago it was announced that I'd been picked up as a guest on the USA Network show. I'm gonna just lay it out there......I was as nervous as a pig at the butcher about going back to work. My job on One Tree Hill was a rare thing. It was my first TV job, and it went on and on for years! Now, most shows are cancelled after 6 episodes. I did well over 100 on OTH. It was a comfortable, wonderful place for me. So imagine my fear about hopping into bed with another show! Could anything ever live up to the memory of those six years?
Yes.
Before the job was mine i had to go and do a Chemistry Read with Matt Bomer. This is where you throw two actors in front of a camera and see if it's believable that they're friends...or enemies....or siblings...or a couple. For those of you who are wildly nearsighted or unfortunately oblivious to the wonder that is Matt Bomer....Oh. My. God. People that beautiful should not be allowed to be that nice and that talented because it makes the rest of us feel like slugs. He was so prepared for my audition....a man who works long days and is in practically every scene, and in the few moments he had off, he memorized and created ideas for a scene that would never air on TV. It was strictly to see if we worked well together. As an actor, that thoughtfulness is a kindness for which you can never say "thank you" enough.
After my read, I cruised through the Hair and Makeup room where I ran into Marsha Thomason. She and i had done a photo shoot together maybe 7 or 8 years ago. She remembered and was so out-of-the-blue supportive, rooting for me to get the job. Who ARE all these lovely people? And how did they all end up on the same show?
That feeling only grew once I was cast and actually working on the show.
Tim DeKay is dastardly magnetic and funny. My scenes with him might be my favorite because he raises the bar so high.
Sharif Atkins is sunshine and song.
Willie Garson is everything you think he would be....wickedly clever and possibly one of the most interesting people I've met.
And I haven't worked with Ms. Thiessen yet, but I interviewed her back when i worked at MTV and I'm praying she won't remember because i GEEKED out! She is stunning.
So there it is......my gush of affection for this team.
When people are good and nice, they deserve praise for such things. So this is my shout from the rooftops!

I have not been on your site in a while just had somethings goin on in my life but I logged back yesterday and caught up I am really psyched to read and hear about all your great successes that you have been having. The small break through that will make your enormous contribution to the industry a huge success! The artist blah his loss when your graphic novel blows up on the book scene.. Congrats on your personal writing success and I am glad to hear you put your pen to paper recently! I never watched White Collar but you intrigued my interest so I on demanded it (love that invention by the way) and DARN girl you are back loved it and I think I will be watching from now on! Mr. Bomer is absolutely delicious eye candy! Congrats on landing this job TV has missed Hilarie Burton!!! Hope all is going well and it must have been nice hangin in NYC again.

I only started watching White Collar because of you but now I'm addicted to it. I knew the very, very hot Matt Bomer from Tru Calling but I didn't realize just how talented he was until this show. I didn't know Tim DeKay but I have the most embarrassing crush on him right now. I'm so proud you got to be on that show, and truth be told, you make it better. You've risen the bar even higher. I'm glad to hear the team is as wonderful as they seem. Good luck and I hope you appear in many episodes because Sara Ellis ROCKS and you have the most wonderful chemistry with Boomer. Go Hilarie!!

I was beyond excited when I heard that you were going to be guest starring on White Collar this season as it has become one of my favorite shows so it is great to hear that you had such a good time being apart of their wonderful cast! Although I haven't had the chance to see the episode yet I am really looking forward to it as I'm sure it is a fantastic episode!!

Sorry Katie but i dont think white collar will show in the UK, season 1 of white collar didn't and they are already on the second season, however in the future they may be shown if the TV show becomes more popular with higher ratings
Hilarie loving you on White Collar. It is such a great show and to be able to watch you on there now is great. Neal and Sara are fantastic together. Love the chemistry between them two and cannot wait to see where it goes. I would love to see a Mozzie and Sara scene. They did such a great job with the casting of Mozzie (Willie Garson). Well, I can't wait to see you on the other episodes.

Oh gosh, I know I'm kinda late BUT I really needed to comment about the episode, I loved the show from the start but gah, now it went from a great show to a PERFECT show. Seriously! I enjoyed the epi from beginning to end, I cannot wait already for the rest of the epis you'll be in. Sara is such a kickass AWESOME woman; I totally fell for her already. I'm SO SO happy you joined the cast. Really fantastic job. I can only imagine how awesome Matt must be. You two seriously have what its needed hehe! ;) I don't think I have seen such INCREDIBLE love/hate relationship in a long while. I gotta admit I'm still a huge huge LP fan, you and Chad were simply LOVE together, but gosh, rooting already for Neal&Sara hooking up together at least a teeny bit soon lol! The epi was just SO much fun! I loved the conversations, and the case itself, and the clothing and the obvious fact that you were back in my TV. I had SO miss you. Like really. I would still LOVE to see you back in oth, at least for a couple more epis, but ah, as long as you keep showing up in such awesome shows like White Collar I'll be a happy woman ha! You're really amazing, and I'm so so happy you got the part. You're definitely rocking it. i DEFINITELY enjoyed seeing you as sarah! i think you picked right job to show everyone that you're not just a teen drama actress because this character is a complete 180 from peyton!! she's badass! dont get me wrong so is peyton, but sarah is badass in ways you wouldn't expect! i LOVED that she stopped the guy from drawing his gun with a batton haha and you seriously OWNED it!! i cant wait to see the next 5 eps!! will be watching next week! :D

I watched the episode. You were sensational. I mean that genuinely as a viewer not just as a fan of yours. I was impressed. You were like Bugs Bunny to his Daffy Duck (Neal), always ready to one up him. I liked that Sara has a bit of an ego. Big enough for the Big Apple and tenacious enough to match wits with the ego of Neal. Oh and may I just say ... you looked dazzling.

Congrats on getting this role! It was great seeing you on tv again! The White Collar cast/crew sound like an awesome bunch to work with! I imagine that makes it a lot easier going in to something new. And its official, I am hooked on White Collar. You had me at your first scene! Sara Ellis is killer character, Im enjoying her thoroughly. I think you did awesome at bring the character to life! Definitely rocked it. And that Matt Bomer is quite engaging himself. I have no problem with him being on my screen on a weekly basis. You two have awesome chemistry together! I cant wait for the next episode!

I was so excited when I read that you were guest starring on White Collar for 6 episodes. I was already a huge White Collar fan and the news that you were joining the cast this seaon for several episodes made me more excited for the premiere this summer! The season has been fantastic so far and tonights episode was great too! I've missed seeing you on my tv (even though I admit that I watch OTH reruns religiously on the weekends on Soapnet) and tonight it was as if you never left tv. I will always have a fondness for your portrayal of Peyton but you are perfect as Sara Ellis. And Matt Bomer is OH MY GOD beautiful! Quite often the show films right near my office and I have never had the chance to see any filming or catch a glimpse of Matt or Tim. They are amazing together. And the chemistry between you and Matt is fun to watch- want to see where that leads!!
Anyway, I can't wait to see the upcoming episodes and I know that you will be superb in those as well. I hope you are enjoying your stay in NY and that it's treating you well.

Hilarie - you did such an amazing job at being Sara Ellis. Different from what we've seen before. She is quite a character. I hope to see more of Sara Ellis on White Collar. I had not watched a full episode until tonight. There was definitely lots of chemistry between Matt Bomer and you...or rather the two characters. There is more of this story that needs to be told.
Did anyone else thing of SoGoPro when he had to carry Atlas Shrugged? Though I have not read it - it just made me think sogopro...

WOW!!! I just finished watching White Collar. You are one talented lady. I think that you were brillant. I loved you as Peyton Sawyer but wow you grew up to a very classy lady. It is nice to see you all grown up. The part of Sara Ellis fits you very well. Who new you could be a badass. Guess what we didn't see one tear even through I love seeing you cry. I just watched the episode of white collar, 'Unfinished business', dont worry you are an amazing actress, you performed you role perfectely, it is hard to believe you could play such a tough 'high class repo man' or should i say 'White Collar bounty hunter', but you performed perfectly, giving the character Sara Ellis hard to predict characteristics which should make the next few episodes very interesting.

It seems that actors facing their sophomore outing following success on a big tv show always suffer a sort of equivalent of that "difficult second album" syndrome known to bands: it really could go either way, and everyone's waiting to find out which!
I won't lie, I know nothing about White Collar (it hasn't reached Ireland yet, and i've been rather nomadic this summer anyway) - but am so pleased you have this opportunity to prove yourself on a different stage. Glad to hear it's been such a positive experience - I guess that's its own reward :).

I understant you perfectly when talk about you're nervous about the new project after long time working at Oth... it has luck to be a succesfull show, but as you say, you can't live always remember that... Hilarie, I'm so excited and happy for you that you got the job on WC!! As someone who wants to be an actress, I know that it's a cut-throat world out there and landing a part is a pretty big deal!! I will be watching White Collar tonight! It's a show I've been watching on and off thus far, and the off time has been my loss. Neal Caffrey really is beautiful and Matt Bomer doesn't sound like a disappointment either! Can't wait to see your character's debut! From what I saw in the clips, you're doing a fantastic job!
