We are assembling in Raleigh at the NC Legislature on THURSDAY, JUNE 11.
We will gather in Raleigh on HALIFAX MALL behind the NC Legislative Building on June 11 to celebrate North Carolina’s motion picture industry legacy and will also rally for the cause 25 TO SURVIVE to show support for an 25% film tax incentive.
On this day, we would like to show the lawmakers who we are: a group of families and people from all over the state who own property and pay taxes and who want to live and work in North Carolina. It is crucial to make this movement a statewide initiative and our presence in Raleigh must represent the entire state.
25 TO SURVIVE is requesting donations in order to cover the insurance and other potential costs for an effective presence in Raleigh.
The Cucalorus Film Foundation has graciously offered to be the beneficiary for 25 TO SURVIVE. The Cucalorus Film Foundation, a 501(c)(3), will assist with planning this massive event. They will also carry the permit for the location and the liability insurance in order to have a well orchestrated, high profile event.
Donations are tax-deductible and can be made directly to Cucalorus Film Foundation at:
http://www.cucalorus.org/donations.asp
Or via the 25 TO SURVIVE page on Facebook:
http://apps.facebook.com/causes/261650
This is our chance to show the lawmakers who we are, what we do and what a terrific group of professionals we are! Please donate to the Cause immediately and PLEASE make plans to be in Raleigh!
This is our opportunity to be seen and heard by our lawmakers. Thank you.

This is cool guys thanks for vlogging about it and letting everyone know. Really hope NC get given a bigger tax incentive. That would Rock & Roll. I'll be showing my support any way I can as well :)
Loving the bar in the background lol
I'm so glad you brought this up, it's good to have more people aware of this and it may help to put pressure on the powers that be, to up the incentive.
It is encouraging to see the Governor take a keen interest in keeping the filming community active in ILM/NC.

Wow this is so awesome!! Kelly you are so brave for coming out from behind the camera. It was so nice to see you!
If I lived in North Caroline I would so be going to that rally on June 11th, but unfortunately I do not. Is there anything that we can do from our homes to help support the film industry of NC? Hopefully the 25 to Survive will have something on their blog site, because I would love to donate.
Thanks for sharing the info guys!

That is so awesome! North Carolina is so gorgeous and I really can't wait to get back there!
After recently helping in a small way in getting film incentives in Arkansas increased I know the battle that the 25 to survive group is facing. Seeing that I will become a resident of NC next week I am glad to learn of this group so I know where to help throw in my support. Film incentives are so important. It's also very awesome that June is Motion Picture Industry Month. It's a good sign that the state understands the importance of the industry and that will help the issue out.
PS Nice to see Kelly out from behind the camera. :-)
hey kelly nice to see you in front of the camera :D

It's so funny that you mention "25 to Survive" - I have been reading that blog for a while, they have some interesting articles.
The tax incentive here (in Ireland) is 25% - it has been upped in recent years and has made a visible difference to the film industry (which was basically non-existant before, and is now definitely a growth industry). I just discovered yesterday that there is going to be a new film shooting here this summer with Natalie Portman and James Franco, which is expected to bring in 10 million to the local economy - that can't be bad, right? And a HBO series is setting up camp in October, which is obviously great in terms of longevity for employees etc.
Anyway, i'm rambling! NC seems like a wonderful area (not to mention it always looks beautiful on film) - so it would definitely be a shame if it started losing productions to other states. This idea of self-sufficiency is one of the most attractive things about SoGoPro, in my view :).

Who Pressed the Play Button then ? :o ^^
nice to see you kelly ;)
what niamh said , i think NC is a wonderfull en peacefull place never been there tho ^^ i hope i can visit it someday ;)
That is so great for our state. An we need to get Bev Prude to go ahead and increase the wage so that we may attract more movies to the state. NC is the best place for them to be we have both the ocean and the mountians and you wouldnt need near as many sound stages as LA does lol.
