MY NAME IS AUSTIN NICHOLS AND I AM LINCOLN BOOTH

kt's picture
A smart, beautiful producer lady handed me a script
one day. Her name is Hilarie Burton.
The script, PEDESTRIAN.
People hand me a lot of scripts and most of the time,
they are less than extraordinary.
This script was light years beyond extraordinary.
After I read the opening monologue, I sent the pretty
producer lady a text message. It said something like
this.
"WHEN DO WE START?!!!"
Then I went home to finish reading and found pages 3-117
to be far richer and more illuminating
than pages 1 and 2. I have been called many things, but
"careful" is not one of them. My whimsical
approach is usually always rewarded, but not what others
would recomend or call, "fruitful."
But I believe that it is the only way to be.
The only way for me.
And it proved fruitful that day.
Our scribe, a man called Nicholas Gray, posesses a
wisdom far beyond his young years. His characters'
tongues are sharp as knives, their journey's devastating
and inspiring, full of fun and fancy.
The pretty producer lady asked me 67 times if I was
serious about doing the movie. You can't fault her for
that. This business is full of fickle frauds.
She just wasn't used to the chivalrous, strong, honest,
straight-forward, my-word-is-stronger-than-oak, Texas
gentlemanly promise that I handed her. And I understand,
it's quite intimidating.
:)
Interestingly enough, Lincoln Booth, the character
I play, is founded on the same kind of Southern ideals,
but he is all dressed up and covered in New York fancy
schmancy, hiding behind the lens of his camera, not
focused on his own beating heart. And then...
Enter Mona Mills...
Stay tuned...
Next time more about Lincoln Booth and Mona Mills.
They may be the next Jack and Rose, or Romeo and
Juliet.
Your Faithful Servant,
Austin Nichols

I cant wait for Pedestrian! I think its really awesome when an actor is passionate about their work. Kinda like in One Tree Hill..I felt that all the cast (Hilarie Burton, Sophia Bush, Chad Michael Murray, Bethany Joy Galeotti, James Lafferty, Lee Norris, and the others) were very passionate about it and proud. It made it more than just a tv show for me :)) Oh and Austin Nichols is amazing :D

this is great!! very interesting...one I will be keeping tabs on....(I am doing a catch up so I may be whoring out comments here tonight!!!)

thats freaking amazing austin, thanks a hella lot for taking the time to portray such a well written character!!

break leg!

Cheers! It is fantastic that you have taken on Lincoln Booth, I think you can do amazing things with this character.

It's nice to see how much passion you have towards your work. I am definitely looking forward to seeing this project come along and its nice to see the whole team slowly forming.
I'm glad you are a part of it!

To the faithful servant, I am looking forward to watch this project on big screen with popcorn and Orange Juice (coz Soda is unhealthy). Good Luck!

P.S. I am writing a book. And as I'm writing the part of this mysterious man...I have you in my mind. Girls can easily get weak on their knees just by beholding such a handsome face. But I get weak on my knees when I see you do the acting. Cheers!!!

Oh Austin I am in love with you....you make me weak in the knees lol....and Hilarie your awesome!!!!Great blog!!! Keep up the great work!!!! xoxo Charlene :)

Austin, I'm so happy that you were giving the opportunity to read a script that you loved. It is more special when it came from the pretty producer lady known as Hilarie.
Your writing is showing that you may be a linguist. Your use of words is magnificient.
Enjoy it and have lots of fun. Thank you for updating on Lincoln booth.

Helene

Wow, this is so exciting! I was wondering if the casting has already taken place? I'm an aspiring actress and singer and am moving to Wilmington shortly enough to pursue that dream. I was hoping to maybe audition for any role available in the production.

Hope to hear from you soon!,
Erin Mauer

Austin, you should have your own blog and write often. You have a beautiful way with words and it’s a pleasure to read your writing. It’s very interesting to see the way you see your character and your process as an artist to bring it into life.

Good luck with all your projects. You are wonderful and very talented! :)

No wonder Jake loves you.

Austin that is spectacular :) I wish you the best.

Wow pretty producer lady, you just keep blogging away dont ya ;)

Hello everybody! I'm from Brazil and we love you.

Loving the blog updates! Austin you sound like an awesome dude! :-D

I was invited on set this past October, when you guys were filming the 40s episode. I was doing behind the scenes interviews for my One Tree Hill Podcast but noticed between takes you always had a book in your hand.

Reading your words, I knew just by seeing you reading so intetnly, you were someone with a true sense of a story and how to find that special something in a character.

It is refreshing to hear an actor become enamoured with a role and want to bring a writer's vision to light.

I wish you all the luck in this endeavor.

Okay so I really loved this post. :] I'm really glad the pretty producer lady gave you the script too...cuz I know you'll be awesome at Lincoln Boothe! [[Like whoever said before, you were fantastic in John from Cincinnati]] I'm seriously so excited about this movie, I really can't wait to see itttt

Thanks Hilarie//Kelly//Austin for the updates, because secretly I'm really loving it ;]

Hahh. This script must be really well written, which doesn't happen as often as it should, indeed. I hope Mona Mills is as complex and clever as Lincoln Booth seems to be!!

Dude, you really make it hard for a gal not to swoon, seriously. I am very interested to see the movie now, i mean when i heard that Hilarie had a production company i was excited. So this just gives me even more things to look forward to. You are going to do great, I just have a feeling!!

You're gonna do a kick ass job on this, Austin! Good luck. This project seems amazing and I can't wait to read more about it. And I can't wait to hear about the Mona character!

x

haha oh Austin. You're awesome. You and Hilarie remind me of eachother, you know. MEANING you are going to be a kick ass team that is going to turn out a kick ass movie, and I might just have to kick some ass if production doesn't start soon!
I can't wait to hear more about the "new romeo and juliet".
Great post! I'm loving all these updates!
love always,
Nicole

Awesome. Cant wait to read more about the characters. Will Hilarie be playing Mona? Haha. That would be awesome if she did. Cant wait to find out more the casting for her. Waiting eagerly for the next update from you guys.

Ask Sophia Bush to play Mona Mills! (:

Everything sounds amazing, I know there are a lot of people following this production and this film so keep up the good work and I'm sure everything will turn out nothing short of amazing!

Austin, you make me weak in my Southern knees LOL And Hilarie is quite the pretty lady.

Can't wait to hear about Mona.

I cannot wait to hear more about this project. It's really great that Hilarie and Kelly both thought you were destined to play this part... and what's even greater is that you accepted! You'll be wonderful, I'm sure.

This project is unfolding really well :)

This script, and cast so far, sounds amazing. I can't wait to learn even more about it!

I'm so intrigued by this now!

Well, now I want to know more about Mona Mills...

Thanks for the update, pretty producer lady :)

I am really thrilled about seeing the process of how a script becomes a movie...thank you to Hilarie, Austin and Kelly for sharing the exhaustive (but hopefully rewarding) journey with us in the blogosphere.

And Austin, since you gave a little shout out to Jerry Maguire, I'm shamelessly promoting my blog right here: http://ambassadorofkwan.blogspot.com/

Good Luck Austin.

Genius...by the way, I dug your work on John from Cinn, as well as Friday night lights, and this show your on right now... Good luck with this project..
