[Kelly, Hilarie, and Nick are all sitting together]

Hilarie Burton: Hi guys! [Kelly waves] It is Kelly, Hilarie, and Nick all in one vlog! That’s crazy talk!

Nicholas Gray: That’s a first. This is a first!

Kelly Tenney: Whoa.

HB: Is it?

NG: No, we had that one...

HB: We did our intro, but we had someone helping us that day, didn’t we?

KT: Yes.

HB: We have a remote today. [Kelly holds it up] God, we love technology! But no, we all wanted to be in this vlog because we have a very big thank you to send out. We had some members of our Southern Gothic family gift us with this amazing treasure chest, just full of love. Kelly, why don’t you tell everybody how we got a hold of this in the first place.

KT: About three weeks ago, we got an email from a couple of our team members that said they were coming to town, like 7 or 8, were flying in from all over the world, and they just wanted to give us a gift. Jaclyne put it together, and sent out kind of an email to all the fans and said do you want to send something in the treasure chest. [has trouble saying the words] Treasure chest… Treasure.

HB: Treasure? Its’ treasure chest. That’s a tongue twister!

KT: [laughing] Yes.

HB: And it is totally just full of stuff! Jaclyne sent along a note with this, kind of explaining everything. [reading note] ‘Where this idea came from: Well, it was kind of, in a roundabout way, inspiration from a vlog. It all started after the vlog of the note in the tree. [turns to Nick] Our mystical day! [continues to read] Almost seems like I should start out by saying once upon a time because it really does seem like a long time ago. We were all talking int he cbox about finding notes in tress and somehow it turned into talking about messages and bottles and how fun they were! None of us had ever found one, that I can recall, and I don’t believe any of us has every sent one, either. So I thought it would be cool if we could all send a message in a bottle meant for SoGoPro. These messages would come floating from all over the world and make it to Wilmington. As awesome as it would be for one bottle to make it from Alberta, Canada to England to France to South Africa and to the U.S. and land in Wilmington, we just have to imagine that part. And this box isn’t so much a bottle, as it is a box, so we will say it is a bottle in disguise. But, the messages have been sent from across the globe. Some had to be emailed to me due to postal issues. (You just can not trust those post men! Dogs have the right idea there) The box probably wouldn’t make it there from our old man river, although that would make for a great story, so to ensure its safe and dry arrival in Wilmington, I am accompanying it via U.S. Airways. We are just a few people that you have touched, inspired, entertained, and we all wanted to share that with you. Thank you, Thank you! Jaclyne.” [stops reading] No, thank you, Jaclyne and everybody else who contributed! We have some fun things. Kelly has a... speaking of a note in the tree, we have a chunk of tree here!

KT: [holds up tree carving] Right. I know we have showed you this picture before but Jaclyne made this, and the writing on the back from another fan. [reads] ‘When we are dreaming alone, it is only a dream. When we are dreaming with others, it is the beginning of reality.’ [stops reading and Hilarie oohs] That’s from Dom Helder... [looks at Hilarie for help] Camara?

HB: Camara. Yeah.

KT: Thank you.

HB: Radical, man.

NG: How do they do that?

HB: I don’t know. That’s really cool, though. Were gonna hang that up in the house, folks! [laughs] Yeah, I think that’s painted on. [to Nick] What do you have?

NG: [looking at wood] I thought it was burned in.

HB: You have...

NG: Yeah, I have this lovely poem that was written from... [starts to laugh]

HB: What? It’s a peacock feather. That’s my favorite.

NG: You’ll know. Ill tell you later. [Kelly laughs and Nick is back to looking at poem] There’s a peacock feather on here, and it’s a poem.

HB: I have them all over my house. [laughs]

NG: It’s a really cool poem. It says... [Nicks stomach growls]

HB: His stomach!

[all burst out laughing]

NG: All I’ve had is coffee today, so I don’t know if you guys heard that, but…

HB: [laughing] Coffee and poetry for breakfast.

NG: Okay. [reads] ‘They stood at the edge of a cliff, ready to take flight. This would be their first solo, and they were scared and exhilarated. They were about to fly. Without wings, their only companion was each other and their belief in their dreams. Little did they know, there was a safety net below, thousands of hands waiting; ready to bring them to a smooth stop. These same hands would carry them up to higher cliffs, new adventures. They’d run back down, proudly watching, and then fly again from below. Their first flight was a success. They dipped below the surface of a script, smoothly sailed across the sky of short films, played in the clouds of t-shirts, and landed safely again in the waiting hands below. They are about to take flight again, and the hands are ready, waiting, watching.’ [stops reading] And that is from Astrid Valentine.

HB: [applauds with Kelly] Thank you! [cheers] No, its like at a coffee house, you have to snap. [all three start snapping]

KT: You gotta snap for that. [Hilarie laughs]

NG: And then I also grabbed this really random front of a card. I’m not really sure how this relates to Southern Gothic, and us. It’s the penguin of death. [turns the card around as Hilarie makes dramatic noise] And it says ‘Things you need to know: He is strangely attractive because of his enigmatic smile. He will kill you in any one of 412 different ways.’

HB: Nick, maybe you are the penguin.

NG: I know! This is a special note to me. This is from Niamh. 

HB: Awesome. Yeah, we got so many goodies in here.

KT: So many.

HB: We are really, really appreciative. This kind of stuff keeps us going so, you know, on days where we hit road blocks and stuff, little things like notes and just, words of support means so much because, you know, it is a community at Southern Gothic and we have a really great support team, and we are very grateful for that.
